Mobile Base Station

Mobile Base Station nearby the Prague Castle

The concept of the Mobile Base Station (MBS) is to provide areas with a necessity of a temporary coverage especially. MBS enables deploying not only the GSM and UMTS technology but also other applications, e.g. data communications etc. Modular design allows easy adjustment according to the customer's needs.

Mobile Base Station in the city centre of PragueMobile base station units are intended for deployment in open countryside as well as in built-up areas. Our MBS serves as an alternative to stationary stations where it is not possible to obtain building permission or to build the stationary station would be either time or financially consuming.  MBS can also be used for temporary network support during expected peak time, e.g. fairs, promotional campaigns, mass celebrations or demonstrations.

Mobile Base StationMEICO system’s has produced more than 70 Mobile Base Stations until now, designed for mobile operators T-Mobile Czech Republic Plc., Vodafone Czech Republic Plc., T-Mobile Slovakia Plc., Orange Slovakia Plc., Telefónica O2 Slovakia Plc. and Polska Telefonia Komórkowa – Centertel Spolka z.o.o.

Our MBS is designed as a self-contained technologic container mounted on two-axle chassis and can be transported by a common tow vehicle. The built-in hardware is equivalent to that of a corresponding type of a stationary station. In addition to the hardware, the MBS includes a pneumatically operated, 7-17 m high telescopic mast with teflon coating. The top of the mast is adjusted to fit a microwave system, GSM, UMTS or antenna systems of different types.

Technical BenefitMobile Base Station in open countryside

  • mobility of the station - a possibility of repeated applications in whatever areas
  • quick installation - putting into operation within 1 hour
  • easy installation even where there are limited handling conditions (in cities, parking, etc.)
  • simple and fast transport - the station can be transported by a common tow vehicle
  • the station can be used for a long time without a building permit necessity
  • pneumatically operated mast enabling individual-part arrest and thus any working height regulation
  • possibility to install any type of technology
  • modular construction enables to follow suit customer's requirements
  • in case of MBS equipped with a genset, up to 10 days of operation without service and fueling demands

Transportation by a common tow vehicle

Financial Benefit

  • potential extra revenue from visitors & own customers
  • save money compared to stationary station (BTS)
  • economic return

Customer's Benefit

  • there won't be place without signal -> customers satisfaction
  • there won't be place with overloaded mobile network -> customers satisfaction
  • the rule is valid for own customers and visitors as well

Disposition

Inside Disposition of the Mobile Base StationThe inside space of a mobile base station is divided into two separate rooms with electrical heating maintaining a constant temperature: the first one, operational, stores the hardware, ASCOM—power supply, an individually chosen equipment complex, frame for accessories for the MW transmitter, switchboard for 10 KRONE modules, and a small table with a chair. This room is air-conditioned.

The second room—technical—stores the mast, a switchboard with secondary consumption measuring, the compressor for launching the mast, and other necessary accessories. There are also two reels with two 50m power cables, a collapsing ladder, a set of accumulators, earth pins with a cable, and a communication cable for the GSM system. There are also anchor cables and a spare wheel stored there, and the power package may also be stored there if requested.
